The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) lunched an internal tool to manage the organizational performance. This tool has been developed to meet the requirements of performance management structure in the Prime Minister’s Office. This tool aims at providing higher management for the Authority in terms of the ongoing assessment of the common feasibility of the Authority’s action plans.

H.H. Saif Al Suwaidi – GCAA Director General declared: “The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) commits and focuses on sustainable improvement of its operations and services, and we are continually looking forward to new innovations for all systems and tools to ensure that our performance and results are, all the times, in harmony with the national agenda of UAE, and with the Aviation industry foresights”. The recently developed system translates the vision of The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) into clear measurable results that define the extent of achieved success. This vision is shared across the organization and between stakeholders.

This management tool includes a new system for providing instant information about all the applications submitted by the customers; companies or individuals, to the officials and the Authority’s Staff, in a way to process the submitted applications in a very short time. The new system provides analytical data for the officials about the status of the submitted applications to the Authority, which in turn helpfully supports decision-making, delivers the best services for the customers, and provides all information through the smart devices at any time. This system gives a clearer image about the usage of e-services by the customers, and the time to complete a transaction. It also defines the intensity’s areas of services, therefore it helps to optimally use the available human resources, and lead them to the proper destination, so they can process the requested services easily and promptly.

Laila Hareb Al-Muhairi, Assistant General Manager of the Strategic and International Affairs Sector said, “The tool will create a wider vision for the current performance, and will help the higher management to understand performance trends, thus, promoting the culture of prospective and effective management in order to achieve the vision and organizational goals”.

She added, “The Authority works at its best to provide services for the Aviation sector. Services development is one of our top priorities in terms of the quantity & quality of the provided services by the Authority; accordingly, the analysis processes performed by the Authority would develop and improve this sector. The new system for performance measurement provides a clearer image to the officials to define the steps that should be taken to improve the services and to provide seven-stars services for its customers. It also helps the decision makers to define the areas of focus in this sector, which witnesses an increasing growth at all levels. These features will make the Aviation industry one of the leading sectors in terms of the quality of the provided services to the public and companies operating in this field. Safety Affairs tools is a very unique and I am very happy with the collocation that they had to develop such system to feed into our main performance system and to be a benchmark for other Civil Aviation Authorities in the field of safety oversight”.

Mr. Ismail Mohammed Al Balooshi, GCAA Assistant Director General for Aviation Safety Affairs sector, declared, “The Authority provides several services for the registered operating companies in the state in the Aviation sector, as well as, the local and international maintenance companies authorized by the Authority. The new system provides the required information to analyze the common status of the civil aviation in relation to the provided services by the Authority at all levels. It also provides strategic information about the quantity & and quality of the provided services, how to process them at all levels, and how to make the proper decision, which develop the civil aviation industry in the state.

Similarly, the Aviation Safety Affairs Sector announced, “The new performance measurement system provides all the required information to manage all submitted services by the Authority”. “The new system issues instant reports to the officials about the level of the provided services by the Authority, improvement opportunities, and the available chances to develop the customer service.”, Mr. Al Azizi added.

The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) provides 188 e-services for customers in the different fields of the civil aviation without any need to visit the Authority’s offices, as these services could be obtained via the Authority’s portal online or a cloud App. of the Authority where customers can apply for any of the provided services by the Authority.
