In honor of the 1st anniversary of the World Humanitarian Summit, where the Education Cannot Wait (ECW) fund was created along with GBC-Education’s announcement of mobilizing $100 million from businesses to support the fund, ITWORX Education corroborates its continued commitment to deliver e-learning solutions to “Children in Distress” around the world.

As a front-running education services provider and one of the ECW fund collaborators, ITWORX Education has since launched a second pilot project in Istanbul, Turkey. The WinjGo-powered e-learning platform for out-of-school children in Turkey has put into motion an end-to-end educational solution for Syrian refugees, the case which was showcased at the GBC-Education meeting in Washington last month.

As a member of GBC-Education, ITWORX Education has been one of the active respondents to the call for the international community to get one million Syrian refugee children back into school. The Company has initiated its ‘Children in Distress” mission, which gives back underserved communities across the globe their right to sustainable, quality education, acting as a springboard for a bright future away from their current struggle and distressing conditions.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Hatem Sallam, CEO of ITWORX Education, said:

“Almost 1 million Syrian children in Turkey can’t go to school due to a complex array of obstacles that include curriculum and language barriers, shortage of qualified staff, refugee camps’ poor infrastructure, proximity to school, bullying, lack of official documents and insufficient government resources. By capitalizing on the power of movable technology that connects displaced and underprivileged children to sustainable, quality educational opportunities, ITWORX Education’s Pilot Project in Istanbul has the potential and the means to reclaim a whole generation of otherwise-disenfranchised young Syrians and helps expedite their integration into the Turkish society.”

He added: “The holistic e-learning solution – which is designed to provide extended access to learning opportunities that typically entail hefty public and private investments into the traditional infrastructure of formal education – is easy to implement, and can take place whenever and wherever it may be needed. Hence, the project empowers everyone, including young Syrian refugees, to pursue their education and explore constructive paths to rewarding careers and social inclusion.”

ITWORX Education’s latest project in Istanbul-Turkey, which is built to address the entire spectrum of needs, challenges and potential of out-of-school refugees, marks the education services provider’s second pilot project for refugee children, following the footsteps of its award-winning predecessor project in Lebanon.

At the core of the project lies the Company’s acclaimed e-learning solution ‘WinjiGo’. The platform revolves around an interactive social space that connects instructors and students who would not otherwise have the ability to connect. With leaderboards, assignments, interactive lessons and individual learning paths, the all-in-one solution’s rich set of features brings all educational missing links together to tackle teaching space dynamics that can otherwise hold learners back.

ITWORX Education’s second pilot project extends the reach of its innovative educational initiative to thousands of Syrian refugee students in Turkey, while reaffirming the Company’s unwavering commitment to push the envelope and bring continuous progress to the e-learning arena in the region as well as across the globe.

With 104 million children estimated to be out of school due to armed conflict, natural disasters and economic and logistical challenges, ITWORX Education’s inventive solutions aim to set a role model for educational development, thereby bringing 21st century education to the millions of underprivileged children in distress around the world.
