Designed as multi-service telematics and infotainment gateway for rolling stock application, the award-winning R6S series offers rich networking I/O including 1 x GbE RJ45 ports plus 10 x IEEE 802.3af standard PoE ports for IP camera or wireless access point connection. Built to be a rolling stock controller, R6S comes with one removable 2.5” HDD/SSD drive bay for dual storage of recorded footages. For wireless connectivity, R6S is internally built with 3 x full-sized Mini-PCIe with SIM card reader (1 for Wi-Fi, 2 for 4G LTE) simultaneous operation. Regarding capability in asset tracking, R6S is built with onboard GPS/GLONASS. This is ideal for Internet access, infotainment and passenger information systems.

Lanner also offers extended SKU (B and C) providing flexible wireless communication through four M.2 slots for 4G LTE or Wi-Fi, each with single SIM slot. As an infotainment railway controller, R6S comes with multiple display interfaces in dual HDMI ports. Regarding connections with rolling stock instruments,, it equips with 4 RS-232/422/485 Serial COM ports for Audio Public Address & Intercom Call (APAIC) system and passenger information system (PIS).
